Alexandrovska Street has earned the title of Largo (Main Street) and is the most visited and busiest street in Burgas. Walking down Alexandrovska Str. you will meet many smiling and welcoming eyes, you will have ice-cream or corn on the cob, you will eat at the little pub at the corner, you will enjoy the sounds of the street musicians and you will find all that is special to this city… you will find the spirit of Burgas, which attracts visitors from all around the world.
One of the most modern cinemas in Bulgaria is the Cinema City Burgas. It’s equipped with state of the art cinema technology. The cinema has 10 modern halls, 6 of which are 3D-capable, with a total capacity of 1665 seats. The screen halls impress with their design and functionality.
Black Sea Salt Pans are one of the most famous places in Burgas. People from all over the country and abroad come here to immerse themselves in healing lye and smeared with mud. Saltpans are located 3 km from the city. It can be easily reached on foot from the beach. They are shallow and very dense because of the salt, so it is not likely to sink. You can lie on your back on them, but do not stay too long – 15-20 minutes is enough.
Municipal Cinema “Adriana Budevska” is located in the building of the Burgas Dramatic Theatre. The cinema was created two years ago and is very cosy and modern. Its goal is to show independent and alternative films. Festivals such as “Sofia Film Fest on the Beach” and MENAR Film Festival take place here.
Thracian tomb Kuhata mogila is located 100 meters from the road to Pomorie and is dated II-III century. It is a combination of typical Thracian tomb and Roman mausoleum. The height is 8 meters and has a diameter of 60 meters. It is open for visits and tours.
The Hide-away is in the protected area “Burgas Salt Pans” – it is described as one with the most birds in Bulgaria. The hide-away is built after an English model and meets all current requirements for this type of equipment. It has specially built viewing windows which allow for optimal observation of the birds in the water pool, while they’re feeding or resting.
Beach Sarafovo is 4 km long and is covered with fine sand. In some places the sand is black due to the high content of iron and manganese. Those parts of the beach are heated very quickly by the sun, so it is necessary to walk with slippers or your skin will burn. Water in the area is shallow and clean and no sudden changes in depth. The beach is guarded, relatively quiet and offers amenities such as restaurants, bars, paid umbrellas and lounges, water wheels, jets and scooter. The sea here is suitable for practicing sports such as windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Solnitsite beach is unguarded and one of the most solitary beaches in the area of Burgas. Located near Burgas saltpans, where there are pools of mud, salt and lye, as their visit is absolutely free of charge. The beach is located north of the Central beach and close to the Asenovsko lake. There are good conditions for kite and windsurfing. The closest restaurants located a few hundred meters. The beach is covered with black sand and in the summer when the heat is really high it is almost impossible to walk on it barefoot.
The Atanasovsko lake is located near Burgas, on the southern coast and was declared as a reserve. Here is homeplace to over 300 bird species. Some of them are threatened with extinction worldwide. The lake is one of the three Burgas Lakes. It is connected with the Black Sea through multiple channels. That is why the lake is salty.
